Seeder and Company has been serving the people of Harbor Country for over 90 years. As a fourth-generation family-owned and managed business, our roots in the community go deep. Our family has worked hard over the years to build a strong reputation for outstanding service and quality workmanship, and we are committed to continuing that legacy.
Seeder and Company is owned and run by the husband-and-wife team of Jenna and DJ Ennesser. They’re joined by a team of highly skilled and experienced landscape installers and technicians. Much of our staff has been with the company for over a decade, and some employees have been a part of our team for twenty years, thirty years, and more!
We’ve earned the trust of both our customers and staff by treating people with respect and honesty, and we’d love the opportunity to serve you, too.
Herbert Seeder and his brothers started Seeder and Company in Harbert, Michigan, in 1929. We have pictures from 1935 of them pulling stumps and planting trees with actual horsepower!
The business and the family continued to grow. In 1980, Harry Seeder Olson, who grew up working in the family business, bought the company. In 2003, the shop was relocated to Sawyer, Michigan, where it remains today.
Harry continued to build Seeder and Company into a thriving landscaping company and spent his life cultivating this business with integrity. Harry passed in 2016, and his family, co-workers, and customers have been missing his smile every day since. His wife Lynda, too, spent many hours sharing her green thumb with the customers, helping them garden and sow good seeds. Now, she gets to enjoy sharing those moments with her four great-grandchildren as they follow her around the garden.
Jenna and DJ took over Seeder and Company in 2019 and have been working ever since to preserve and expand on the legacy their family has built.
Seeder and Company offers a full range of landscape design, installation, and maintenance services. From helping you select plants to building patios and retaining walls, we handle it all. Our team serves both homes and businesses throughout Berrien County and the surrounding areas. We also offer snow removal services in the winter.
We are beyond grateful to our grandparents, Harry and Lynda Olson, for this amazing opportunity. Key to our longevity is the employees we have. We are so glad they have weathered the storms with us; we simply couldn’t have done it without them. They know our customers, their properties, and their preferences well. As one of our longest-running customers said, “Seeing the guys in the spring is like seeing an old friend.” We loved hearing her share that. What a great way to be known; we hope we are always able to be seen as “an old friend!”

With some much to be thankful for, we hope that trickles down to each of you as well. You are truly valued and are a part of our American Dream. We look forward to seeing you this season!

Lawn Maintenance: Monitor for rodent damage on trees and protect plants and lawns from road and sidewalk salt when possible. Select and order spring plants.
Lawn Maintenance: While the lawn is still dormant, consider tuning up the lawnmower and other equipment. Keep an eye out for salt and snow damage.
Lawn Maintenance: Watch out for snow mold and clear matted leaves as the snow recedes. Treat salt-damaged grass and check your irrigation system.
Lawn Maintenance: Prune and remove dead branches. Protect plants from late frosts. If crabgrass is an issue, apply a pre-emergent herbicide.
Lawn Maintenance: It’s time for frequent mowing and maintenance. Consider aerating and fertilizer as needed. Control dandelions with spot treatment.
Lawn Maintenance: Watch for slugs and snails in the yard. Mow regularly and irrigate as needed. Deadhead perennials to encourage new blooms.
Lawn Maintenance: Maintain grass at about 2.5 – 3.5” and irrigate if needed. Check for grubs and apply insecticide if necessary. Add mulch if desired.
Lawn Maintenance: In mid-August, reseed thin patches or bare spots in your grass. Irrigate to encourage growth if needed.
Lawn Maintenance: Begin fall cleanup of leaves and branches, and trim plants back for the fall. Continue monitoring for grubs.
Lawn Maintenance: If dandelions or other broadleaf weeds are a problem, blanket herbicides can be applied. Continue mowing to mulch leaves.
Lawn Maintenance: After the last mowing of the season, fertilizer may be applied. Leaves should be mulched by mowing or raked up.
Lawn Maintenance: Continue cleanup if the weather allows. Some thin-barked trees and shrubs may need protection (and decoration!).
